My Monthly Soundtrack 2.0: March

Time for my monthly soundtrack!

1. Roses (feat. ROZES) [Zaxx remix] - The Chainsmokers

I discovered this while watching a video circulating Facebook with groups of dancers shimmying along to this, and I instantly had to find one of the few versions of Roses that they used. It's feel-good, atmospheric and the perfect build up to summer.

2. Operator (He Doesn't Call Me) - Låpsley

I was waiting in the queue in HMV to buy Låpsley's album when Operator started playing in the shop, I knew immediately that I loved this song and Shazam'd it (recognising the voice but not being able to pin it down) to find it was on the album I was about to buy! It's a groovy (is that a cool word to use?), motown-inspired bop. A true talent and a wonderfully produced song.

3. Lush Life - Zara Larsson

In celebration of my generation being mostly genreless when it comes to music, I'd like to declare just how much of a 'banger' this.

4. Conqueror - Aurora

So I recently purchased Aurora's album when it came out and I love how raw this song is, as is the whole entire album. Aurora's youthful sound is definitely one worth checking out.

5. Somebody Else - The 1975

One of the most inticing songs from The 1975's new album is Somebody Else. I wanted to wait until Låpsley's album came out (a week later) to buy The 1975's album just so I could have a 'marathon' of music listening. I have to say, it was quite emotionally charged. Somebody Else is stunning, and there are some fantastic covers out there.

6. The Less I Know The Better - Tame Impala

I'd like to clarify that this isn't censorship because the video is quite sexual, but because I really love this live version. The bassline is immense.

7. Wiped Out! - The Neighbourhood

I love The Neighbourhood's 'aesthetic', it's relaxed yet has a huge impact. Wiped Out! in particular is a perfect showcase of The Neighbourhood's creativity and themes.

8. Drive - Glades

Chilled and current, imagine listening to this on a summers day, driving around pretending you're in a music video.

9. Follow You - Cheat Codes

Amazing! Chilled, feel-good summer vibes and simply nice to listen to. What more could you ask for? (It's March and I'm craving summer music)

10. WHERE THE HELL ARE MY FRIENDS - LANY

Indie-pop at its all-time best. WHERE THE HELL ARE MY FRIENDS is bliss, and LANY are magnificent.

That's all for now. Thanks for reading, bye!
