Civil War is out tomorrow (UK)! Here's what to expect from Marvel's latest superhero flick.
So, the long-awaited third Captain America film is out tomorrow (or soon for elsewhere), and it's chocked full of Avengers and new heroes, villains and more. While some want to go in completely blind, others, like myself, are curious as to what we could expect to see in the highly anticipated Civil War. I've yet to see the film so any spoilers are unintentional, and I won't be editing it after I see it (midnight screening tonight/tomorrow). I'll attempt to post two reviews, one with spoilers and one without.
1. A dark horse...
Would it be fair to assume that we all think Black Panther and Spider-Man are going to be the standout dark horses of Civil War? Yes, completely fair. However, perhaps we should shed some light on both Scarlet Witch and Agent 13, two supposed members of #TeamCap that seem to switch spots in the line-up a lot. It's been confirmed that Scarlet Witch is still discovering her powers in Civil War, and Sharon Carter/Agent 13 is part of the C.I.A; could they be the dark horses that make Tony Stark (or Baron run for his life? It's plausible. Two dark horses on each team? Could happen.
2. A side switch...
It wouldn't be Civil War without somebody switching sides, would it? While some other reports have suggested it could also be Hawkeye, Ant-Man or Spider-Man, it could more than likely be Agent 13 (Cap to Iron Man), Black Widow or Vision (Iron Man to Cap). Agent 13 does the deed in the comics and kills Captain America (with Crossbones who, coincidentally, is also in this movie), could we see Agent 13 take on her duties and join #TeamIronMan to take Captain America down once and for all? For the others... Black Widow's connections with Hawkeye and Captain America alone could tempt her to the other side, can she really fight against the Avengers she's closest to? Could Paul Bettany's Vision have a stark realisation and join Team Cap at the last minute to join Cap and the others, including Scarlet Witch who reportedly gets close to Vision in CA:CW.
3. A funeral, or two...
Two funeral scenes have reportedly been filmed, one presumably for dear old Peggy Carter and another for...? Scarlet Witch would have been on my radar, and could still be one of the Avengers to depart, except she's been confirmed by Kevin Feige for Avengers: Infinity War. That doesn't rule out a resurrection, but it's unlikely. That leaves the obvious; Captain America, needs no explanation. Vision has the infinity stone, and the majority of other Civil War characters have future MCU films lined up (Spider-Man: Homecoming, Black Panther, Infinity War, Ant Man and The Wasp); Hawkeye and Falcon seem expendable at this point.
4. A 'new' character post-credit scene...
Will we see Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, Mantis (and the rest of the Guardians) or even Iron Fist (or the rest of the Netflix gang) appear in a post-credits scene after Civil War?

There's a lot of anticipation for Captain America: Civil War, and with reviews being extremely positive the film looks set to meet standards. I'm off to a midnight screening, check back for a review (spoiler and non-spoiler) soon!
Bye for now.
