Hello! This is the very beginning of a series of posts about Harry Potter, goodness. It's half term, so I've gone full on Potter mode; watching the films, going on Pottermore, playing the video games, obsessing over merch online, crying over Dobby and Tonks, everything.
From Harry Potter himself, to Lavender Brown to Cho Chang, there are many students at Hogwarts. However, there are some that really stuck out for me. Even if they only had a couple of lines in a film, or a few mentions in the books, these are my top 10 Hogwarts students. My choices will be based on the film series, I may do a post another time based on the book series.
1. Luna Lovegood
Luna is great, she's not afraid of what others think of her, she just does her own thing and does it happily. Also, that scene in Deathly Hallows where she gets angry at Harry because he's ignoring her whilst looking for Rowena Ravenclaw's lost diadem. Blimey. Evanna Lynch is brilliant.
2. Neville Longbottom
Neville is the underdog of the whole series, he spends his school years constantly being undermined and laughed at, and then BAMN Neville's badass. I mean, he kills Nagini. I wouldn't even look at Nagini, screw that. Nasty snake, oh hell no. You go Neville, YOU GO.
3. Hermione Granger
HERMIONE HERMIONE HERMIONE. Emma Watson is fab, she's playing Belle in the new Beauty and the Beast film and HeForShe is such a wonderful project, but her portrayal of Hermione Granger was top notch. I loved it. Hermione is truly intelligent, passionate and dedicated. She could have easily walked away, with not being from a wizarding family and so, yet she continued to fight and stuck around. Plus, HERMIONE AND RON AW.
4. Katie Bell
This is a bit of bizarre one, albeit I would argue that Katie would be much higher up if I were judging on the books. But, Georgina Leonidas' portrayal of Katie really got to me. I'm not sure if it was because I knew of the actress from her Basil Brush days (represent). Katie is friendly, kind, and very skilled. She's just a good person.
5. Ron Weasley
Ron Weasley. That is all.
Clumsy, loveable, innocent. I have no words for the hero that is Ronald Weasley. Except, HERMIONE AND RON AW.
6. Draco Malfoy
Sinister, uptight, misunderstood. You kind of have to feel sorry for Draco, he just wanted to be accepted. Albeit, the wrong way to go about it, you know, becoming a death eater.
7. Lavender Brown
Jessie Cave did a wonderful job with Lavender, erratic, a bit loopy, and just fun. Again, likewise with Katie Bell, Lavender would probably be higher up in the list if I were judging this on the books. But seriously, Lavender was hilarious. But, in Deathly Hallows when she supposedly died, my heart broke. :(
WON WON MISSES YOU LAVENDER.
8. Seamus Finnigan
In the words of the beloved McGonagall ...
BOOM
9. Dean Thomas
Dean is the real MVP.
Grew up like Harry, but wasn't as egotistical.
10. Ginny Weasley
Bonnie Wright is great, she was great at playing Ginny, just great. Ginny was powerful, caring and dedicated. Everything a powerful witch needs.
Honorary mentions
Padma and Parvati Patil
Harry Potter
Hannah Abbott
Pansy Parkinson
Cedric Diggory
That's all.
Bye for now.
